css and changing text size

I often use the option in internet explorer to enlarge text on a site by going to View/Text Size or using the scrolly wheel on my mouse and holding down the Ctrl. However when I make a web page using css nothing happens when I change the text size.

If you fix the size of text using CSS, this will 'override' the browser default and lock the size.
i.e

.maintext

{

color: #00008B;

font-size: 10px;

}

If you set the size as a percentage using CSS, this can still be resized.

i.e.

.maintext

{

color: #00008B;

font-size: 80%;

}
