Creating a wireless home network

Equipment:

O2 wireless box (downstairs)
Sony Vaio PC (upstairs) - Connected to Internet
Old PC (upstairs) for parents - Not connected to Internet.
Netgear Router.

Problem:

My Sony Vaio is fine as it is wireless and I can use the Internet. But this now leaves my old computer upstairs with no Internet connection. Is it possible to use the Netgear Router to enable the old PC to the network rather than going out and buying a wireless PC card?

the old pc via a LAN Cable but then the router would need to be close to the old pc.

a USB Wirless Adapter from somewhere like Amazon.co.uk or Ebuyer.com are only about from £9 its a small price to pay and may be cheaper than having a telephone ext fitted.
