creating a Vlan

If I wanted to create 2 seperate vlans on a single switch would my router need to be running a routing protocol like Rip or ospf.

The Ports running to the DSL will be vlan1.

Ports running to the t1 will be vlan 2.

Vlan tagging will need to be enabled on the server to allow it to participate in both networks. So far, so good, but the problem is defining the default gateway for the server - it can only have one. All outbound traffic will therefore go via the T1 or DSL depending upon which way the default gateway is pointed.
