Can anyone of you kind knowledgeable chaps or chapessess point me in the direction of how to create a PC password, not just user account passwords?

I think age must be catching up with me now... head's all blank on this issue!

I need to stop access to a second PC so need to password protect it at boot. Oh - XP home o/s.

Thanks

Derek

start - control panel - user accounts - change accounts - select account and set password

thanks for that Wobbly - it's not users I want to password, its the PC.

I thought a password to access the PC not just the user accounts could be created

On my pc you go into the bios and there is an option in there to create a pasword and the pc will not start without it being entered correctly

superhoops,

that password only stops you accessing the bios.

Thanks fellas - I'll just stick with the user account passwords!

Joe R, not strictly true. I have a password set up in the BIOS. When booting I am asked for the password and the system boots OK. You need to go into the BIOS and set a "System" password there, not a BIOS or Supervisor password.
