Please can somebody ou there help?

My son had swithed his PC off but, unable to wait until the system had fully shut down, he switched the darned thing off at the wall.

Now the PC won't boot up. When attempting to start up, it gets so far then stops, tries to boot and stops again. I've hit F5 and asked it to start using last configuration and all of the other options offered when you tap F5 when its trying to boot.

Any thoughtsd please.

PC is a Dell running widows XP home.

It would be odd if switching it off that way caused any particular problems. Computers crash all the time and still mange to reboot! Are you sure that a cable hasn't come loose at the same time?
