Thanks for that Article, really helpful to know there is a 'Direct Download Link' on those sites that avoids the Installer and so doesn't have the crapware, pups in download.

Very interesting article, and one well worth reading.

In the case of CNET, I was totally unaware of its activities until recently when I ended up with the PUP 'MySearchDial' on the computer. Trying to remove this is proving very difficult.

I note also from the article the suggested recommended download websites. MajorGeeks and FileHippo being two suggested 'safe' sites. So its a good job I often recommend these to people on this forum requesting downloads. I now feel that little more happy for offering advice that might not cause future problems for others!.
