I have got a microstar 6378 mother board and was running a 1.1 ghz duron processor ,and a mate gave me a 1.8ghz athalon processor. When i fitted it in and run the computer the screen showed that the CPU was only running at 1.250ghz . All I did was slot in the CPU and new heat sink is there something else I should have done?

because you need to set the FSB to 133MHz, the duron runs on a 100MHz front side bus so the Athlon is running on a 100MHz FSB
