I Know this may sound a bit stupid but is there a difference between a penium 4 that is 2.40ghz and a pentium 4 that is 2.50ghz.

0.1 ghz is the answer. Perhaps one might be a different architecture ie a Prescott against a Northwood and they might be different sockets I really don't know as I'm into AMD processors. The bottom line is however you will notice no difference in speed between the two.

You would never notice it and you would probably not notice the difference between 2.4 and 3.0.

2.4 and 3.0 , i thought that would be a big difference . why do you say that?
