My AMD 1700 athlon says 1100 when booting up, is this right or have I been done?

Make sure you have the FSB set to 133 in the bios. An Athlon 2000xp has a real speed of 1.67ghz. But the bios should say "AMD 2000XP+". Check your bios settings.

As for your 1700 CPU, again, make sure your FSB is at 133.

Sion, if i can change the bios setting as you say to 133, will my pc run faster or is it just the info that will change?

Run Faster

Both, when i first put my AMD 2000XP in it was set at an FSB of 100, so displayed a slower speed (i believe it said AMD 1659 CPU). When i bumped it up to 133, the bios displayed the right chip and speed (AMD 2000XP+)
