CPU

If the CPU is dead would I have no on screen display. All the other parts are running the hard drive light is constantly on and it is a new motherboard ddr new but CPU is not new the reason I have had to change the motherboard is that I had no video display as it was on board video I thought it had blown. I have no video again on this new board and i am in the same position no video do you think that it is the CPU that has had its day.

Although you have the above running your PSU may not be working as it should, if you have a spare try it

with woodchip - your psu is most likely not up to the job of powering the new power hungry parts

I had this happen to me when I just fitted a new msi motherboard - fans were spinning slower and the hard drive light was on all the time
