Corrupted Files

Does anybody know of a file recovery programme. I have a Publisher document and an Excel spreadsheet which have, some reason, become corrupted and impossible to open. I have been working with both files for a very long time and, whilst I will be able to recreate the Publisher file because it is the chapter of a book, it will take a lot of time and effort. The data on the spreadsheet will be impossible to fully recover. I would be grateful for any advice you can give.

I may, yet again, be accused of preaching but here seems to be yet another example of the folly of not having a backup.

Sorry Grandad Ray, this is no help to you but, when you get sorted out, please, please, learn from this and keep an up-to-date backup, even if it's only your files and personal data.
