corrupt zip files on disc

I recently burnt some zip files to disc. When I tried to copy some of the files back to my pc it told me was an invalid ms-dos function. Is there anyway to repair theese files so I can recover the photos in them?

Hi bytch. Firstly if your photos are in jpg format there is no point in zipping them. jpg is already a compressed format, and zipping them often increases the size slightly.

If the zipped files are corrupted I don't think there is much you can do about it, but hopefully someone on this forum will prove me wrong.

What method of file copying are you using to get them back to your pc and what software did you use to zip them, and what are you using to unzip the files?

I run windowsxp home. I zipped the file with winzip and burnt them to cd. The thing is some files on the disc on fine unzip back to my pc with no problem. I only have 2 of 7 files that I am having trouble with getting back onto my pc. I've tried just copying the files back with windows. I've tried unziping them back to my pc with winzip. I'm just lost but there are pics on there I really want :(. Hopefully someone will be able to help me

I'm pleased to see that you have your files back.

For important files like photos I keep 2 copies on good quality CD's, then if one copy gets damaged I have the other for backup. Also as I said before, don't zip jpg files. If you want to compress large picture files such as bitmaps, convert them to jpg or some similar format intended for picture files.
