Corrupt file

  jerryj 18:52 19 Aug 05

When I turned PC on last night it ran check disc.
My son had been on it that day.
It gets to 5% of the second stag of check disc and just restarts itself.
It will keep doing this unless you press any key.
Also if I run virus check it will get to about 5000 of the 48000 files scanned and restarts itself.
I am running incredimail (no problems in 5 years) that says Doc & settings /local setting / temp / incredimail file missing or corrupt.
Or GLBC tmp Corrupt file.
I have tried to delete incredimail and reinstall but it will not let me.

Any help will be great.

have you tried uninstalling in safe mode.?

Hi, just a thought - if you want to re-install Incredimail, it is not necessary to uninstall the old one.

I have tried that where you either repair or upgrade, but that didnt work.
Also I have lost the use of incredimail now but the file is still in add remove programs.

jerry555, can you try booting to safe mode with command prompt, and type in " C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" (without the hyphens).

Is it safe to do that.

  Joe R 19:06 19 Aug 05

yes, it is perfectly safe.

Is that just a system restore, because I tried that a dozen times going back 3 months but still didnt work.
