Cordless Connection from PC to BT tele socket

Some time ago between 1-2 years there was an adapter made by Thomson (i think) which avoided the need for endless telephone extension cables to connect modem to BT line. I recall the adapter was plugged in an electrical socket adjacent to PC and plugged in adjacenet to BT socket where the second reciever connected in. This meant wherever you sited your PC in the house you could connect to internet. Can you advise whether product still exists and what speed it can recive and send information ?
