Hi

My internet connection at home where my desktop is located is only 53.6Kbs so any download takes a long time!
I have a laptop which I take with me to a broadband WIFI site and I do its updates there. I also have a desktop and want to know if I can transfer the downloaded files from the laptop to the desktop-both systems are XP.

Thanks

On the desktop, go to Windows Update and make a note of the critical updates that you need to download. The format is Kbnnnnnn.

On the laptop, download the updates by referencing the KB number on Windows Catalog click here

You may have to install an ActiveX control on the Catalog site.

Transfer them to the desktop and double-click them one at a time to install them.
