Could somebody give me some advice as how to transfer my old vinyls and tapes to mp3/wma format onto my harddrve. What software i would need and where perhaps to get it from.
Many thanks moosep85

Link your tape/vinyls player's output to your PC's sound card's Line-in port, use a program to record. There are many mant software packages for this, but one Free popular one called Cdex can be downloaded from click here

Type vinyl into the search box and you will get plenty of threads giving advice on this. subject. Personally, I use a prog called Total Recorder to record the wav files and use various free utilities to convert to MP3 e.g db Poweramp

Audiograbber is now free click here
This can be set to automatically split incoming audio into individual tracks and will rip your cd's.
