copying video cassettes

I am trying to copy video cassettes in stereo, I have to configure the sound card to enable the line in, but the finished movie only plays in mono.

I have a basic C-Media 4 channel card, would it be worth updating to a more recent card, maybe the new C-Media 7.1 channel or is it something that needs to be altered in the set up?

Hi kissag. Are you certain the source is Stereo, because if it is then it's more likely to be connections and/or settings rather than your card. [not all connecting leads are stereo IE right/left/common earth].

SOurce is stereo VCR with stereo cassette, two phono into 3.5 stereo jack plug.

I have tried altering the configuration on software and found out that the software I have been using is for a diferent version of the sound card that I have, I have updated this and will try again this afternoon and report back, thanks for your reply.
