Copying VHS Tape to DVD

Have just recorded a DVD from an old VHS Video tape using my Dual Video/DVD Recorder using the Dubbing facility - I recorded it using the 'Video Mode'. However, when I play it on my PC the sound is distorted. What could be the problem and is there a remedy?

Does it play okay on the TV using your DVD player?

I did the same thing yesterday, but I used the Copy utility, worked perfectly and plays back fine.

Plays fine on the TV. Using the DVD Drive on my PC. Don't know if I have a copy utility - mine is known as 'Dubbing'

Have played it via a few - Media Player Classic, VLC Media Player and Nero

Well VLC is the better of the three and seldom gives problems. . I would rip the disc to the hard drive as an iso image and see if that plays no logic to that but i would ty that

Tried ripping it but can't open it in either: DVD Shrink, DVD Flick or Nero!!!

If I can get it onto my hard drive I'll convert the file

Make sure that the dvd is closed or finalized before it will play on computer.
