Copying from Tape or Vinyl

Anyone know of a download for copying tapes, vinyls etc via the sound card input port. I'm currently using the little tool provided by Creative but I have to sit and monitor it through each track. I understand that there is free software out there that e.g. recognises the gap between each track and starts a new track file automatically.
