Can anybody tell me a quick way of copying files from my old Windows 98SE PC to an XP machine. In words of no more than 2 syllables please, (not up too much on technical jargon!)
Thanks.

you could always do it with loads and loads of floppy disks....
a simple solution would be to use a USB pen drive, or something similar, and just put the data onto the pen, and then plug it into your XP machine.
i know XP has a files and settings transfer wizard. this works by connectig the two PC's together, then transfering data directly. if you run the files and settings transfer wizard from

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System tools

when it starts up, there is hyperlink on the first page which tells you how to link your computers up, the the rest of it is simply following the on screen instructions. very simple
oh yeah, u can transfer between an older O/S and XP.

take your old drive and put it in your new machine jumper set to slave, then you can simply drag and drop the files from one hard drive to the other

just be careful that you don't void the warranty on your new comp by removing the cover if you go for reaths idea...
