Copy IBM PS/1 hard drive

  HUMAS 07:08 04 Mar 05

A colleague has an old IBM PS/1 with a 40mb hard drive, model WDP-L40S. The system still works but the floppy drive or controller is faulty.
I have tried other folppy drives but no good.
Question is, is there a way to cable this hard drive up to another PC? I have looked at USB2 to IDE connectors to connect to my Laptop, but they are all standard 40 pin IDE and this drive has a 42 pin cable (which is different to a laptop 42 pin).
I need to copy all information from this drive to a new PC.
Greatful for any help or information.

Use a serial connection, if I remember correctly the PS1 had those. A copy of laplink (and laplink cable) should do the trick with the software loaded temporarily on the receiving PC.
