I have windows vista and Norton Ghost.
If I copy my hard drive to an external hd would i then be able to put it all on a new machine?

no I don't think so,
unless the new machine is identical to the first one - Hardware, etc

Thought not lotvic. I can copy it to a larger hard drive though and I wonder how it would know its a different computer when it accepts a new hd. I thought everything was on the HD.

Here's what I had done . Original drive copied to new drive before fitting .Copied drive fitted in place of original same pc .No problem but I go with Lotvic all drives etc are for the same hardware etc
