copy c drive

I have just added a new drive to my computer, what I want to know is can I copy the c drive to the d drive for a complete back up.
I am using windows XP.
Is it possible to do this without using 3rd party software, if so can somone give me some instructions.

Open "My Computer". Right click on the C drive, select "Properties". Select the "Tools" tab, and click on the "Backup Now" button.

Download xxclone from click here this will copy everything for you. The new disk needs to be formatted first.
