Any one able to tell me how to convert RAR files into a format that will play on a DVD player? I have done this before but cannot remember how to!

Thanks

RAR files are compressed like zip files, you need to extract the contents using a decompression utility such as winrar.

7-Zip click here is freeware and will unpack RAR files.

And if these are files that have been downloaded, don't forget to scan them first with you AV.

no sound now it's extracted to a windows media player file. There are winrar archive files in the folder the DVD is in and IDX files. Do these need extracting too?

OK so tell us what they are and where you got them from?

....I get a message about Dolby Digital 2 Channel decoding is not available. How can I get this and do you think with it I can play sound?? Thanks

But what are they? and where did you get them from?

When I try to burn a particular DVD I get 'due to patent license restrictions, Dolby Digital 2-channel decording is not available. This feature can be added by installing the DVD-video plug in, the Nero 6 ultra edition retail package, or the web version. I can paly the movie in Windows Media Player fine, except there is no sound :0(

Basically, I do not want to pay for any more software. Does anybody know of a way round this??
