Hi,

I'm having some difficulty in converting my partitioned HD. The data label is Acer and yet when I try to convert it, it tells me the Data Label is incorrect.
Using command convert d: /fs:ntfs

the section for D drive is called Acer

ANy help please

The label you see beside the drive letter, in My Computer is what it is asking for.

I have done this many times and don't recall having to give the volume label. click here(TechNet.10).aspx is the MS explanation and again no mention of volume label.

Take a look at the link to ensure you are doing it right.

If you right click the drive and select "Properties", the box that is highlighted by default in the Properties sheet that opens is the Volume Label. If this is blank, then just press Enter when prompted for the Volume Label without entering anything.
