DVD Flick should do this for you. It's free.

I have not used it, but I believe Window Movie Maker in XP can do this for you.

Easiest method (I think) is to burn the avi's straight to dvd using free Div-X player click here which only takes a few minutes to fill a dvd, and get a cheap avi compatible dvd player to play them click here player

i use convertxtodvd (same people whjo make copytodvd) and i have to say it is as solid as a rock...converts your avi files to Video_TS files in quick fashion....just my opinion
