converting cd's to mp3

i want to down load some cd's on to my sons mp3 player but am unable to as it tells me "wrong format" i presume that they are not saved on my pc as mp3 files, is there any way this can be done? i am running windows m.e. with media player. i (and my son would be eternally grateful for any advice

You need a program to convert the cd tracks to mp3 format. There are some available, such as AudioCatalyst, in the downloads section of this site.
