Hey i'm looking to convert an avi file to dvd so i can burn it onto my dvd+r.

I know there are various converters but which ones are recommended by you lot?

I'm using Windows XP profession. How do i determine the speed of my DVD writer?

Sonic MyDVD supports the following video formats:

MPEG-1 (.m1p, .m1v, .mp1, .mpg, .mpeg, .mpv)
MPEG-2 (.m2p, .m2v, .mp2, .mpg, .mpeg, .mpv)
AVI Type 1 and Type 2 (.avi)
QuickTime movies (.mov, .qt). These require the free QuickTime Player version 5.x or later -- you can download the latest version from click here
Windows Media Video (.wmv). MyDVD only supports WMV files that are not copy-protected
