convert temporary internet file back to Word

I have been sent as an e-mail attachment a Word document which, for some reason, has been converted to a temporary internet file. I need to work on / edit this document which is almost impossible in its current format.
(When I try, I get purple lettering, underscoring, etc).
Can I convert this back to a simple Word doc which I can work with?

Many thanks, since this is quite urgent.

Then copy and paste it into a Word

Many thanks Marvin.

So easy, yet I couldn't fathom it out!
