Convert files to images (.doc to .tiff or similar)

  BEANS 20:02 02 Dec 03

I’ve just received two photographs as attachments, from a known source I may add.
The file extensions are .doc and the files open OK in MS Word 2000 with no problems.
Is there any way I can convert these to, say .tiff or .bmp, as I wish to work on them.
The Summary in the properties gives the Author as “Pre-instyalled user”, the Statistics give values:-
Pages 1
Paragraphs 1
Lines 1
Words 0
Characters 1.
The file size is 166KB.
Are any converters available that you know of?
Thanks in anticipation.

if the picture is part of a word document ...why not just select the picture, then right click and copy, and then paste the picture into your graphics programme?

The files I'm hoping to convert are 'stand-alone', not part of any document.

Though they only contain graphics.

Open in Word, select the picture and copy to clipboard, and paste into Microsoft Photo-editor of Paintshop Pro, or whatever you have to edit them.

Thanks for the responses. I cannot think how I missed such a (now) obvious solution!
Let's say 'Anno Domini'.
