How do you convert cd files to mp3 so that I can load an external storage device via a USB port using media in windows me?

In XP, you can install a plugin to WMP to enable ripping of CD's to .mp3 format.

Unfortunately you seem to be using Windows ME.

FreeRip, however, supports Windows ME.

If you have already ripped CD's to .wma formate using WMP, these can be converted to .mp3's using the free version of dBpowerMP.

Unfortunately, this particular conversion results in a significant quality loss.

Tbh, I am not au fait with USB in Windows ME. Perhaps someone wiser might comment on this if it is an issue.
