Controlling frames with JavaScript

I am designing a webpage with two frames. I have a panoramic picture in the top frame and four buttons in a lower frame, which have values 'Left', 'Right', 'Reset' and 'Stop'. These buttons need to make the top frame scroll, stop or reset when they are clicked using the 'onClick' event handler. I have found a way of doing this in Netscape Navigater but the same code does not work in Internet Explorer. Does anyone know a way of doing this or acheiving the same effect some other way??

of IE? Early versions wont support frames.
Just a thought.
