Hi All,
I have sound on my computer, and I can control the volume by my speakers or if I am using Windows Media Player, can move the volume slider higher or lower.
But I cannot use the volume icon in the taskbar, I have it there and can move the slider up or down BUT no effect on the volume, even if I click on the Mute. and also when I use the volume buttons on my keyboard that also has no effect.
Can any body help.
I am using XP Pro.
Cheers,
Flobby

Reinstalling the sound card drivers / software may help...

Hi Diodorus Siculus.
I did a search for the driver of nvidia(R)nForce(TM)audio.in google and the answer was there.
It needed a Windows update, which as it was not critical did not download and instal automatically.
It is working now.
Thank you,
Cheers,
Flobby
