in control panel i have two icons called network connections,they both point to the same program,how do i get rid of one of them.

Search for files with *.cpl in \Windows\System32 (or \System). You may have to 'unhide' files in Folder Options.

When you've identified the one you don't want move it to a different location, then delete it when everything is behaving properly in a few days time.
