continuous rebooting

Am running windows xp home and my system keeps rebooting approx 5 mins after start up, not long enought to run a scan and no new hardware or programmes installed, done a system restore in safe mode but problem continues, any ideas?installed

hmmm sounds a bit like the Blaster virus.

You'll need to run the Blaster worm remover (click here) then do the following:

Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.) Type regedit Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.) Navigate to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run In the right pane, delete the value: windows auto update Exit the Registry Editor.

control panel\system\advanced\startup and recovery\settings\system failure, uncheck 'automatically restart'

should then give a blue screen with error, rather than simply restarting.
