Ok so my laptop recognizes the connection and it says my signal strength is good. I've tried all these tips from other threads including enabling the netbios over TCP/IP. I've done the CMD commands and tried all that but still nothing.

My IP address is just 0.0.0.0
my DHCP SERVER : 255.255.255.255

i can't access any internet on my laptop so I'm on a friend's laptop at the moment. any suggestions?

the router is linksys
other info- broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN
I use a WEP key

Daft question maybe , but are you entering the correct WEP key ? A simple missing letter/number or the wrong case is quite often the problem , another thing to try is to reconnect to the router via an ethernet cable and change to a different WEP key ( shorter , longer , whatever ...) and see if that helps .
