Hi there,

I've got for you two questions:

1.Can I connect a hub and a switch with a patch cable... together?

If yes, what a max distance could it be between them...?

2.Can I connect wirelesss access point to hub with a patch cable...

If yes, what a max distance could it be between them...

Many thanks

I have an AP connected to a 5 port Network Switch by a 50 metre cable without any problem.

Often a hub or switch will have an "Uplink" port for connecting to another hub/switch rather than to a PC's network adapter. This may either be a dedicated Uplink port or a LAN port with a button to toggle it between a standard port and an uplink port.

What this actually means is that, with an "uplink" port you connect with a straight-wired patch cable, without an uplink port you need to use a crossover cable.
