connection problems

All of a sudden I have to uninstall and then reinstall my broadband modem every time I wish to connect. My ISP is Wannado, they assure me everything is set up correctly at both ends and suggest it is a windows problem, I have not installed SP2. Any ideas please ?

Do you connect via a network card? If you do try un-installing the card from the device manager. Re-boot and it will re-install the card.

Have you got all the Microfilters fitted ?
Run a full Virus Scan
Doe's the Cable from the modem go direct into the phone socket or through an Extention ?
Take out you Dial up modem cable

Which windows, and type of machine please.

Yes I have the silver speedtouch modem, already done virus scans, all filters fitted and straight into wall socket, XP and Mesh Matrix.
