Connection to Outllook Express 6 failed

This message appears : Connection to server has failed. A/C:, Server',protocol POP3,Port 110,Secure (SSL):No,Socket Error:10061,Error Number 0x8ooCC0E. What does all this mean ? Will the problem solve itself or can I do anything ?

Could mean that the NTL e-mail server is down.
Can you access your e-mails by webmail?

Wooolwell & Skidzy - Thanks. Yes, I can access via webmail. I looked at the Microsoft link & could not understand what it suggested I should do ! Any other suggestions ? Thanks

Can you try disabling your firewall briefly,and see if you can open OE.
If using IE6 try this fix click here repairs OE also.Does not work with IE7

Skidzy & Woolwell - Thanks again. Problem appears to be solved by switching my Zonealarm email protection off & then on again. Had a lot of help from NTL Support Centre & then PC Helpline (0906-9910001 - but this costs £1 a minute ! )
