connecting a usb modem to a router

my modem connects to my pc via usb, but my belkin g wireless router requires a phonelike cable from the modem. There is an ethernet connection port in the back of my pc and I have several spare cables. How do I connect the modem to the router? Do I need a differant router or am I missing a trick?

A USB modem is for a Single computer to be connected to your ISP to allow access to the Internet

You cannot use a USB modem with a router; you need to get a modem with an Ethernet ports to connect the router

Or a combine modem wireless router
