connecting to a pc remotely

I have setup tight vnc on my pc & tested it using a pc on the same network & it works perfectly. The problem is I cannot connect to the pc from outside this network. I have set the router to accept incoming connections for this pc & have given the pc a static ip address. Also I have checked that the firewall on this pc is set to allow tight vnc. the pc is running windows 7 & is connected via a lan cable to a bridged router which then connects to the main router. Could the bridged router be the problem? stopping me from connecting outside the network?
