I've got an old Win95a Notebook (P90) w/o CDROM. I would like to connect my new computer with USB on Windows 2000 to it to do some little file transfer.... What would be the most interesting alternative...

I don't think that one will do what you want - you would be better with a direct cable connection set up with a parallel / serial cable.

Or get a PCMCIA network card and crossover cable.
