Connecting non-dell printer to dell pc

  gemster 17:56 10 Mar 08

I have got a new Dell Vostro 200, when I brought the computer I selected no printer as I already have an HP printer that I wanted to connect to it. I have just gone to connect it up and there is no slot in the back of my pc tower to connect the printer cable to. Is there no slot to plug into because I selected no printer when buying? and is it possible to connect my printer via a usb port? Thanks

If its an old printer that uses the parallel connector and your PC doesn't have one you can buy a convertor such as this click here

Yes you can use any printer. What model of Printer? Is it a USB printer - most have been for several years. You will likely need the driver disk that came with the printer.
