I have one of these

I've taken it into work for private use, but cannot get an internet connection on the laptop.

I do have a spare base unit next to me at work, I was wondering would the laptop work if I took the phone cable out of the base unit, and plugged it into the laptop?

Thanks for any help

No. You would need the software and Internet settings on your laptop before you can connect. If your work PC is running XP, the ISP software may not ne compatible with your Vista setup.

Best to check with your ISP first and see if any downloads / updates are required before you "swap the cables" :)

If you were to get the settings and plug into your works network set permission first and when you connect through to the internet remember they will be able to log every site you visit.

OK thx for the info, it was not for anything illegal, just for web browsing, and forums use, however based on what you've said, I think I best leave it, in case I create a c*ck up.
