Hi there,

I have been struggling to connect my laptop to my tv. I have an ati radeon 7500 which I have discovered has tv out capability. I have a vga to hdmi cable as my tv doesnt have a pc connector. I have been through the display properties and into advanced and it always says tv not connected and the enable button remains grey. It just always says no signal. Please help!! Im getting frustrated with it.

You need to use the S-video Out port from PC to TV, you will also need an audio lead for the Sound.

This is best accomplished through a VCR attached to the TV.

So the lead I have wont work?

No, I don't think it will.

So what would I connect it to on the back of the tv as I dont see a s-video connector on the back of the tv? Sorry if Im being dense!

The S-video and Audio leads could be connected via DVD Player, as well as a VCR.

.... that is why I said through a VCR or DVD Player connected to the TV (which most people have).
