connecting a hard drive temporarily

My friends computer is out of action. Can I remove the hard drive and connect it up to my computer without having to phyisical fit it in place. just to remove some files. I'm sure I read this quite recently but cant trace it. thanks

You will need to configure the hdd's jumper to the slave position. You will also require anide cable for a slave drive, master goes on the end connection and slave in the middle. Connect with a spare power lead, you should have one already in your pc and then boot up. Move the files over to your hdd by drag and drop. That's all there is to it.
