I have a very old Epson stylus color 480 printer with me. Now, i want to connect this printer to my thinkpad laptop with Windows 7. Is it possible? Which wire are required for this connection? Please help. Thanks in advance.

There were two 480 models. SX with parallel interface and SXU with USB.

Unless yours is the SXU, you won't be able connect it without an adapter (I can't imagine that your laptop has a parrallel port). If it is an SXU, you would need a suitable USB cable (see the printer to work out what type of USB it is at the printer end).

HOWEVER, the printer drivers are almost certainly only 32 bit (I assume you have the drivers). If your Win7 installation is 64 bit it just won't work anyhow - you absolutely cannot install 32 bit drivers on 64 bit Windows.

In any event, even if your Win7 is 32 bit, there is no g'tee that the drivers will work.
