Connecting 5.1 to integrated soundcard

I have just purchased a Dell Dimension 8100 with integrated sound card.

This has 5 sockets, black, green, blue, pink and yellow. The dell comes with 2 speakers which connect (via a woofer) to the green output

I have a Cambridge works 5.1 surround sound which has 3 cables Black (Rear speakers) Green(Front) and Orange(centre). Connecting any of these to the green output on the card means the corresponding 2(or 1) speaker works. However, I don't know how to connect up the others as connecting to the other outputs does not produce any sound.

I have tried setting the sound to 5.1 in the control panel but this doesn't help.

Do I need to do something else or do I need to install by separate 5.1 card (which I don't really want to do)

Try looking in the sound (card) properties for options to see if you can select 5.1 output failing this you may have to add 5.1 program to set it up. your motherboard "guide" manual should have this info in it. (if you were supplied with it)
