connect two computers through IEEE 1394

i have a laptop PC with firewire port and a desktop Pc with firewire port too...

i heard that i can connect two computers with firewire..

i tried to do it.. but i had problems..
by the way i have windows XP professional on both computers...

please help me connect the two computers...

You will require some software to achieve this. As an example when I installed a firewire card it gave me the opportunity to install a piece of software called FIRENET. This allowed networking through the firewire connector.

If you have an on board socket then you will need to find the necessary software. Have a search in google or try here for a starting point. click here.

Not familiar with XP so no opinions or ideas.
