Hi,

I am a fairly competant PC user and I used to have my PC setup to connect to the internet automatically when my PC started up but I can't remember how I achieved this. It may have been by way of a batch file.

Can anybody help me out on this one?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You could try tools internet options / Connections / Allways dial default.

Its been a while since I set up a dial up account, but I think you will find a radio button in the setting of your account that allows autoconnection.

I'm not sure about a .bat file but I set mine up that way by first of all ticking the Auto-connect option then creating a new String Value in the registry at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and entering the Value:

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

it works a treat, Grantrh.

...or copying and pasting the dial up connection icon into the startup folder works too. Tick auto connect first.

Drag your ADSL Icon into Start/All programs/Startup and reboot.
